20 Kids Die, 438 Suffers from Malnutrition in NTB this year.
Cases of malnutrition among children under 5 years old in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) had claimed 20 lives this year as of July, according to data from the provincial health agency.
            The agency also reported that as of July, at least 438 toddlers suffered from  malnutrition.
            The agency’s spokesperson, M.Ismed Nurmadhani, said that the real figure for 2014 was higher because the agency had not yet finished verifying all the data from the province; eight regencies and two municipalities.
            He said updating the malnutrition data was slow because all the cases up had to be verified to be certain they were malnutrition and hot something else.
            Agency data also showed there were 645 cases of malnutrition in 2013, 32 of which ended up in fatality. In 2012, there were 767 cases, 23 of whom died, while in 2011, there were 1,092 cases, 42 of whom died.
            Ismed blamed the condition on poor parenting and a lack of nutrition for children. “ The toddlers suffering from malnutrition do not automatically come from poor families. The cause is not just poverty,” he said.
            Ismed also said that 40 % percent of the malnutrition cases that ended in fatality were because of accompanying disease, such as tuberculosis, acute respiratory infections, and hydrocephalus.

Mangosteen Health Benefit
Mangosteesn is a fruit found in tropical countries throughout Asia, for example Thailand, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philipines. It also grows reasonably well in areas such as Hawaii and tropical Northern Australia from Innisfail north to Cooktown.
            Mangosteen fruit contains compounds that have antioxidant- anti bacterial and anti- fungal properties. Scientific research indicated activity against several cancer cell lines, including breast cancer, liverbcancer and leukemia. In adition, mangosteen also exhibits anti histamine and anti inflammatory properties. Traditionally, mangosteen has been used for many years as a medicinal treatment for diarrhea, skin infection, wound in throughout South Asia.
            The lates research in scientific research shows mangosteen contains a class of naturally occurring polyphenolic compounds known a xanthones. It may provide beneficial effects on cardiovascular disease, including ischemic heart disease, atherosclerosis, hypertension, and thrombosis. Mangosteen is also proving to be highly effective in supporting and strengthening a weak immune system.

It may happen that someone sacrifices her/his whole life to help others. One of the most outstanding figures in this case is Mother Teresa.
            She dedicated  her life to poor. People knew her as a kind hearted woman since she helped the poor with food, drink, shelter and medical services.  She even took care of them. She stayed and slept with the poor in a refugee camp for several months to give medical services. She went around the world to give funds to places struck by disaster and conflict, such as Beirut, chernobyl, and poverty stricken countries in Africa. She also gave a chance for poor street children to study.
            Her dedication in giving service to the poor became a legend. Many people came to her for a shelter, medical service and many more and she opened the door to them, even infectious people.
            Her charity grew bigger so she could provide more shelter and better medical service for the sick. Her action also inspired other nuns to help her programme so her network developed well.  Some hospitals were established also orphanages for orphaned children who are victims of war were built. There were also some food centres for refugees, poor people and other starving people.

Education has an important role in our life. There are educational systems all over the world. Most Asian countries, for example, have different educational system compared to the systems used in Western  countries because educational systems are reflections of culture and society.
            Educational systems in asia reflect how group work and traditional are more valued than individualism.  Therefore, children in Asian countries, such as China, Japan, Korea and Indonesia help each other in doing their assignments. They learn the social skills of cooperation or working together.
            Additionally, the learning activities are more formal because it is teacher centred since the students’s role is to listen to, recite and memorize what the teachers. The educational system creates discciplined students with self control.

            Understanding the benefits and drawbacks of Asian educational system, the government should reconsider the system of education used in our country.

            As an actor, Kitsch is perfect as a rhino riding saviour of the planet. The scenes of Carter’s first low gravity steps and his springing into the air are extremely amazing. The animator has successfuly made this film more scientific.

Indonesia’s 2013 Curriculum Gets an Overhaul

Jakarta. The Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Anies Baswedan, said controversial 2013 school curriculum would only be implemented in a limited number school across Indonesia.
            “ The bottom line is that we still want to develop the curriculum, but we don’t want to  include all schools in Indonesia in the pilot project,” Anies said on Friday.
The 2013 curriculum has been in place for the past two years despite widespread criticism from teachers, parents and education experts alike.
Anies said 6, 326 schools across the country have  adopted the curriculum since 2013, while others have only been following it for one semester.
Schools that have already implemented the controversial  system are encouraged to continue the program, while those who are still new to it are allowed to revert back to their previous methodology.
According to Anies, to abruptly change the routine of  6,326 schools that followed the 2013 curriculum since its conception would be disruptive to their students’ studies.
The 2013 curriculum has drawn the ire of the education sector, both private and state regulated, for eliminating several crucial subject, including sciences, English and social studies for elementary level, replacing them with additional hours of Indonesian language, national ideology and islam. Both education exprerts and the public argued the new system of subject would only be detrimental to Indonesian students, making them less competative at the international level.
